'The Good Wife' Spinoff Cast News: New Characters To Be Introduced, Alicia Florrick's Potential Return Already Set?

Fans of "The Good Wife" have been waiting for details on the spinoff show since it was announced it's heading to CBS' streaming platform. While it will feature Diane Lockhart (played by Christine Baranski) and Lucca Quinn (played by Cush Jumbo) in the leads, it looks like Alicia Florrick (played by Julianna Margulies) will be a part of it, too. The show is also going to introduce new characters.

Speaking with TV Line, "The Good Wife" spinoff producer and show creator, Michelle King, confirmed that Alica Florrick could grace the new series as a guest character. King confirmed that they are already planning how this will happen, given that Diane and Alicia had a falling out in "The Good Wife's" final episode.

King also said that if and when Alicia shows up in the spinoff, she will definitely not be working for Diane. In fact, Diane's law firm will be starting over with Lucca and new characters are to be expected in "The Good Wife" spinoff.

"The Good Wife" spinoff still does not a confirmed title, but it already has a timeline. Per CBS, the new stories will begin one year after the final episode of "The Good Wife." Its target debut is in spring 2017.

"The Good Wife" spinoff will be exclusive to the network's online site or video-on-demand, CBS All Access. This means it won't be aired on television, but under a subscription content. However, it is still unconfirmed if the new show will be coming out on a weekly basis or in a binge-watch format, which has been the norm for online content.

Meanwhile, those who love and followed the work of "The Good Wife" creators might be interested in watching their new show, "BrainDead," also on CBS. As Parent Herald previously reported, the series will premiere its first season on June 13 at 10 p.m. It's a political satire that's unlike any other show on television today.
