Mark Zuckerberg Hacked? Facebook Founder's Twitter, LinkedIn, and Pinterest Attacked by Hacker Group

One would think that the founder of one of the largest social networking platforms would have increased measures of cyber security for his online accounts. However, this does not necessarily apply for Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg as a number of his social media accounts were recently hacked.

The group known as Our Mine, who found Zuckerberg's account information when user data from another networking site, LinkedIn, was leaked online, perpetrated the hack. What was surprising was the simplicity of the Facebook big shot's password, which was revealed as being "dadada," according to NBC News.

Sources close to Mark Zuckerberg have confirmed that his seldom-used Twitter, Pinterest, and LinkedIn accounts were all affected by the attack, says ABC News. Screenshots of Zuckerberg's hacked accounts have been posted online, which show his relatively inactive Twitter account used by the hackers to send a message and to try and get in touch with the billionaire.

It is unknown as to why Zuckerberg had foregone the use of number combinations and the use of special characters in his password. Luckily, his main social networking accounts, such as his Facebook were not affected by the hack. Facebook officials have confirmed that the hacked accounts have now been reclaimed.

Cyber security experts are saying that security measures for these types of sites still need to be massively improved in spite of fairly recent advancements. "[The hack] serves as a reminder that two-step verification, which LinkedIn supports for all of its users, is not enough in this age of rapidly advancing attacker capability," says Stephen Cox of SecureAuth.

This has definitely gotten people worried due to the fact that one of the biggest presences in social media could so easily be hacked. If you think your password is too simple or too common, then it is definitely time to change it.
