iPhone 7 Release Date, Specs, Price: Smartphone Case Design Leaks Confirm Rumors On Apple's iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus

With the iPhone 7 nearing its release this September and with the WWDC Apple event unfolding Monday, June 13, more news are expected to come out about the smartphone. In fact, the latest talk involves the leak of case designs for the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus. It seems to confirm the actual designs of the phones as well.

Both Forbes and MacRumors received samples of upcoming iPhone 7 cases from retailers that supply third-party options for iPhone users. While MacRumors note that these accessories sometimes do not always match the products exactly, the leaked case design look quite accurate.

The cases were designed by Olixar and it's already selling via online store MobileFun. It substantiates what rumors have been speculating all these months about the designs and features of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

What's immediately distinct from the leaked case design is the absence of the headphones jack, which has been speculated for the iPhone 7 since 2015. Per Forbes, there's actually no "dedicated cutout" for this, thus confirming all the rumors. There is also a design in the case that indicates what looks like an access to the Lightning port.

The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus have also been rumored to come with a dual camera feature. However, the leaked case designs show that only the iPhone 7 will seemingly carry this. The iPhone 7 Plus case doesn't seem to have any dual camera in the design, but it might likely have a single bigger rear sensor.

As for size and thickness, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus leaked cases do not indicate any distinction from previous iterations. The upcoming smartphones are in fact "almost identical" to the iPhone 6s under this terms, per MacRumors.

In light of these leaked case designs, there are reports that iPhone might actually be ditching the usual Space Gray color for the iPhone 7. Various reports say that a deep blue option could be in the lineup, with the Space Gray looking to be discontinued.  The information first came to light via the Japanese blog Macotakara.
