It has been four years and counting yet the sixth book of "A Song of Ice and Fire" remains in the dark. Several reports claim that "The Winds of Winter" is coming out soon. Unfortunately, according to news reports, the book is delayed again because George RR Martin is sick from his Balticon trip.
'The Winds of Winter' Further Delayed
George RR Martin treated fans during his Balticon appearance by reading a free "TWOW" chapter about Aeron Greyjoy. Parent Herald reported that the celebrity author allowed his audience to choose from three "The Winds of Winter" chapters and the crowd selected Greyjoys, which according to Martin is similar to Ramsay Bolton.
The new chapters of "The Winds of Winter," which George RR Martin shared to his fans recently triggered the reports that the book is about to be finished. In fact, "TWOW" is reportedly ready for publishing and will be out early next year.
However, according to Ecumenical News, the anticipated book "The Winds of Winter" is delayed again after Martin got sick from his trip. The popular author announced this on his blog.
George RR Martin Is Sick, Can't Work For 'The Winds of Winter?'
"I am back home again in Santa Fe, after two weeks on the road in Baltimore and New York City," George RR Martin wrote announcing his condition when he returns from his trip. "Great trip... but I seem to have brought the plague home with me."
Martin also confessed that aside from him, his assistants Jo, Lenore and friend Lezli Robyn were stricken with the plague too. The symptoms, which includes coughing, fever, headache and congestion did not show up until after the con. The "The Winds of Winter" author stressed that they are still recovering.
"So I will keep this short. Lots to report on, lots to catch up on, but just now I don't have the energy. More sleep and more fluids... I should be my old self shortly...." Martin added.
