As the "Star Trek" TV reboot is coming together on CBS for its debut on CBS All Access in early 2017, an actress, who used to work in another "Star Trek" show, expressed her interest to guest star. Jeri Ryan she would love to "revisit" her character, but only if the show's head, Bryan Fuller, asks her.

Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy, Jeri Ryan said that she knew that the "Star Trek" TV reboot on CBS would take place in a "very different world" from all the other "Star Trek" shows. However, she also expressed that it might be fun for her character to "just drop in" and she also expressed her admiration for the new series showrunner, Bryan Fuller.

Variety reports that Bryan Fuller actually started his career as a TV writer on "Star Trek: Voyager," which means he has worked with Jeri Ryan for several years. She's just as excited for the new series, as any "Star Trek" fan, and is confident that Fuller would bring a creative spin that would still remain true to the spirit of the show.

The actress played Seven of Nine on "Star Trek: Voyager," a "Star Trek" spinoff that runs from 1995 to 2001 on the UPN network. She described Seven of Nine as "incredibly intelligent and incredibly strong," who could serve as an inspiration to young women, especially those interested in working for science industries.

The "Star Trek" TV reboot on CBS still has no official title and no cast announcements just yet, but the network already confirmed the show is going to launch in January 2017 on its online platform. Filming for the series will start in September in Toronto, per a previous Parent Herald report.
