‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ Cast: Web Slinger Tom Holland To Fight Another Villain Aside From Michael Keaton

Tom Holland will face off another villain aside from Michael Keaton in Spider-Man's first solo adventure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The new villain will reportedly serve as the partner-in-crime of Keaton's big baddie role.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the other evildoer will be portrayed by Logan Marshall-Green, who previously appeared in Ridley Scott's "Prometheus" and Karyn Kusama's "The Invitation." Keaton's involvement in "Spider-Man: Homecoming" was first reported by Variety in April.

Keaton's deal previously met a setback when it was confirmed that Robert Downey Jr. will appear in the film to reprise his Tony Stark/Iron Man role. Back then, it appeared as though Marvel and Sony wouldn't be able to afford both actors. Insiders, however, said that both studios managed to ink an agreement with Keaton now that Downey's deal has been closed, making both actors satisfied, Variety explained.

Michael Keaton To Play As The Vulture?

Unofficial reports claimed that The Vulture will be Spider-Man's main foe in the upcoming movie, so it's safe to assume that Keaton will be portraying the villain, Cinema Blend reported. Other reports that have surfaced recently said that The Tinkerer would be a supporting villain in the film, presumably to help The Vulture build a flight suit made from leftover Chitauri technology from the Battle of New York in 2012's "The Avengers."

That being said, Marshall-Green could be the tech guy from the sidelines helping The Vulture accomplish his evil deeds. However, these are all speculations at the moment and Marvel and Sony's official word about the characters is yet to be released.

Release Date, More Cast Members Confirmed

Holland's portrayal of Peter Parker/Spider-Man first appeared in "Captain America: Civil War" back in April. The young web slinger was recruited by Tony Stark/Iron Man to help apprehend Captain Steve Rogers' (Chris Evans) team. Previous iterations of the "Spider-Man" character on the big screen were portrayed by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.

Another recent addition to the cast of "Spider-Man: Homecoming" is Martin Starr from HBO's "Silicon Valley" and "Community" actor Donald Glover, Entertainment Weekly reported. Other confirmed cast members are Downey as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Zendaya, Tony Revolori, Michael Barbieri, Kenneth Choi and Laura Harrier.

"Spider-Man: Homecoming" will be released in theaters on July 7, 2017. Jon Watts is directing the movie from a script penned by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley.
