'Cars 3' Movie: Last Installment Will Feature a Retiring Lightning McQueen?

Kids and parents alike are definitely looking forward to the upcoming "Cars 3" movie.

The third installment is rumored to be the last, and will tug on the viewer's heart strings as it will feature someone important from Lightning McQueen's past. Pixar Chief Creative Officer John Lasseter recently revealed that Doc Hudson from the first "Cars" movie will be making a brief return to the upcoming installment.

"Lightning McQueen, he's awesome," he told Entertainment Weekly. "We've got some great new characters, some great racing in it. It's a very emotional story. It's a little bit more akin to Cars 1, where you get into a deep emotion with him. It's really a special story. It's very emotional and his relationship with Doc Hudson, and his memory of Doc Hudson."

As some "Cars 3" movie updates suggested, the third and last installment will feature Lightning McQueen in a very odd situation. After being the fastest, McQueen suddenly finds himself in the midst of younger, faster and more advanced cars. Luckily, a new addition to the cast will help him get through his fears and insecurities.

"Cruz Ramirez is trying to figure out how this old dog can learn some new tricks," "Cars 3" director Brian Fee said in a USA Today report. "Think of where he'd be in his career now in real time. (McQueen) is not an old man, but he's one of the older cars on the circuit with new rookies coming in. People start to wonder and ask when he might retire."

"Cars 3" is slated for for a June 16, 2017 release. Stay tuned for more "Cars 3" movie updates here!
