'Thor: Ragnarok' Air Date, News & Update: Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston Set Final Film In Motion? Loki Exits With Trilogy End?

The end has begun as Chris Hemsworth in the title role and Tom Hiddleston as Loki set the final film "Thor: Ragnarok" in motion. Although Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston had been as much a package deal in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, "Thor 3" may be the last time the James Bond candidate plays Loki.

The apocalyptic "Thor: Ragnarok" is expected to be heartbreaking not just for Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston fans but to Marvel followers in general. However, Digital Spy reports that Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston will be delivering a very different Norse god of thunder and Loki in "Thor: Ragnarok."

Thanks to the influence of "Thor 3" director Taika Waititi, "Ragnarok" will explore a different dynamics for Thor and Loki with Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston. "Thor: Ragnarok" is especially poignant for Tom Hiddleston who might be playing Loki for the last time as highlighted in a separate Parent Herald story.

Although Tom Hiddleston did not reveal outright that Loki is gone with "Thor: Ragnarok," the James Bond candidate's words to New York Daily News was telling. "It's not personal it's just keeping it fresh for all paying customers to enjoy their films," Tom Hiddleston stated.

Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston will usher the end of the standalone trilogy for the god of thunder when "Thor: Ragnarok" premieres in theaters on Oct. 25, 2017. Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston will be joined by Cate Blanchett, Anthony Hopkins and Mark Ruffalo for "Thor: Ragnarok."
