'Iron Man 4' Release Date, News & Update: Fourth Installment Confirmed A Prequel? RDJ Shares How He Prepared For The Role

"Iron Man 4" release date rumors continue to spread online. With no confirmation about rumored fourth installment, fans are left to wonder whether seeing another Tony Stark solo flick is still feasible.

Previous reports hinted that Robert Downey Jr.'s return in "Iron Man 4" might be a far-fetched idea. Given the actor's age by the time the rumored 2020 release date happens, all the action scenes might prove to be too difficult for him.

"Iron Man 4" release date updates are hinting on the possibility of a 2020 launch, and could possibly be shown after "Avengers: Infinity War." However, Vine Report noted that despite the MCU timeline, Marvel can still opt to make "Iron Man 4" into a sort of a prequel following the events of "Captain America: Civil War."

Meanwhile, fans continue to hope for the best for both RDJ and the rumored "Iron Man 4" release date in 2020. As for the actor, he previously shared what it's like to play one of Marvel's most iconic superheroes.

How He Became The Man Inside Of 'Iron Man'

In an interview with Bio, Downey Jr. recalled how he got the part for "Iron Man" and how he prepared for it. "The funny thing is: I had been preparing for Iron Man for a year or so before I even knew there was going to be an Iron Man in my life," he said.

"For some reason or another, I had been training really hard, just trying to get my body to a really great place, doing martial arts and all that. I was, like, 40-years old. I figured if I was ever going to try to look like I was in decent shape, there wasn't going to be a better time," he continued.

"So when the part came, I was ready for it. Or I thought I was. It was a really physical role. Sometimes you train your ass off so you'll look good in a movie, and then you find out that you were really training so you wouldn't die."

"What I learned about myself playing "Iron Man" is that if you're not on your team, why should anyone else be? Something like the first "Iron Man," that was considered out of the box for me," the rumored "Iron Man 4" actor continued. "Way outside the box. But that's what we are here to do: change expectations of ourselves."
