MacBook Pro 2016 Release Date and Features: New Flagship Model to Officially Axe MacBook Air?

Latest MacBook Pro 2016 release date rumors are claiming that Apple's newest laptop will officially retire another favorite. If new reports are accurate, it looks like the Apple MacBook Air will finally get axed.

According to Tech Times, the new MacBook Pro 2016 could be Apple's new flagship model. Because of its noteworthy upgrades and new features, the new Pro will definitely send the Air packing.

As the site mentioned, the MacBook Pro 2016 which will come in 13 and 15 inches, will reportedly boast of NFC chip technology, Touch ID fingerprint scanning, OLED touchbar, USB-C / Thunderbolt, wireless charging and Intel's latest Skylake processors.

Other features that will reportedly come with the new Apple MacBook Pro 2016 are Siri or Touch ID unlocking and it will reportedly run on MacOS Sierra. The new Apple computer is expected to be released sometime between August and October 2016.

Meanwhile, Neurogagdget previously reported that a surge in MacBook Pro 2015 discounts have been noted, spurring speculations that retailers might be clearing out their old stocks to make way for MacBook Pro 2016. According to the publication, the 12-inch MacBook now retails at $350 less than its original price, while the 13 and 15-inch will have discounts ranging from $100 to $250.

The Cupertino-based tech giant has yet to confirm nor deny any MacBook Pro 2016 release date rumors, but tech junkies are almost certain that its launch is drawing near. Some sources are claiming that the new laptop could be unveiled by Holiday 2016. Other reports remain hopeful that a September launch alongside the highly anticipated iPhone 7 could be highly possible.
