Prince Harry 'Love Interest' Ellie Goulding To Present 'Top Gear'? Pippa Middleton's Rival To Replace Chris Evans, Jeremy Clarkson?

Recent Prince Harry match-up (and Pippa Middleton rival by default) Ellie Goulding is being linked to British motor show "Top Gear." News say Ellie Goulding offered to replace Chris Evans who stepped down from filling in for former "Top Gear" host Jeremy Clarkson.

"Top Gear" was hosted from 2002 by Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and Jason Dawe. In 2003 "Top Gear" shifted hosts with Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond joined by James May and the introduction of the show's mystery driver - The Stig.

"Top Gear" maintained this stable of hosts until 2015 when Jeremy Clarkson had to leave to show. Richard Hammond and James May also left "Top Gear" with Jeremy Clarkson, leaving an opening for a new stable of hosts.

BBC signed up six new "Top Gear" hosts in 2015 to take Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May's place. The new "Top Gear" team saw The Stig joined by Chris Evans, Eddie Jordan, Rory Reid, "Friends" actor Matt LeBlanc, journalist Chris Harris and race driver Sabine Schmitz.

Nonetheless "Top Gear" lost out on ratings with most viewers unused to the motor show without the old trio of Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May. The Independent reports that Chris Evans thereafter resigned from "Top Gear."

Ellie Goulding, who recently broke the hearts of Pippa Middleton fans by being linked to Prince Harry in The Daily Mail, expressed willingness to present "Top Gear." This tongue-in-cheek post by Ellie Goulding on "Top Gear" caught on and spread as reported by Belfast Telegraph.

According to Glasgow Evening Times, Ellie Goulding presonally clarified that the Prince Harry match-up will not be joining "Top Gear. "No, I'm not presenting Top Gear, sorry to disappoint."

Ellie Goulding further said that she has not had the chance to see the new episodes of "Top Gear." The Evening Standard corroborates clarification by Ellie Goulding.

The media outlet cites BBC in saying that "Top Gear" will maintain the host count to five with the current stable leaving no room for an Ellie Goulding addition. Thankfully, fans (including those of Prince Harry and Pippa Middleton) would still be easily able to access Ellie Goulding through her performances in and out of the country.
