'The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt' GOTY Edition Release Confirmed By CD Projekt RED; Watch New 'Blood and Wine' Trailer Here

Fans of the medieval-themed "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" are in for a new Game of the Year version in response to the highly positive feedback with the series gameplay. Also, the GOTY edition is expected to feature formerly released free downloadable content.

The Game of the Year version for "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" would also be available on PS4, PC, as well as XBox One gaming consoles, according to Digital Trends. Along with The Witcher 3's 2015 debut, the game quickly gathered a high number of gamers and followers, alike.

Since then "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" has amassed more than six million units sold, reportedly surpassing The Witcher and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings' total sales. "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" is also credited as one of the most recognized and awarded in gaming history, with more than 250 accolades during the Game of the Year awards.

Expect more artistic gameplay from 'The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt' Geralt of Rivia 

In terms of graphics and creative gameplay, "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" has been widely popular among game enthusiasts. CD Projekt RED successfully brought the main character Geralt of Rivia and his unique set of friends to life with realistic voice acting, storytelling, and excellent character development.

In the meantime, it has also been confirmed that "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" would be Gerlat's final adventure, much to the dismay of the game's fans. The Game of the Year issue for "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" had been added with two expansion packs, Hearts of Stone and the newly unveiled Blood and Wine.

CD Projekt RED To Release New Games After 'The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt'

"The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" may be sorely missed, however, CD Projekt RED is working on 2 new projects, "Cyberpunk 2077" and "Gwent: The Witcher." The latter could be a more concentrated Witcher version, owing to its name Gwent, GameInformer reported.

Although pricing details or actual game release is yet to be announced, CD Projekt RED's game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz issued a media statement recently to extend the studio's gratuity for the raving support "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" has quickly received. Tomaszkiewicz said that the third installment of The Witcher, including the Game of the Year edition was a massive team effort by everyone involved.

Tomaszkiewicz further added, "I'm happy to confirm - yes, plans are in motion to release such an edition. We'll release more details, including the release date, in the future. In the meantime, I'd like to thank every fan of the game for their support - you're really amazing!"

Eurogamer source says that "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" GOTY edition will be out on the 26th of August 2016.
