'Mortal Kombat X' DLC Kombat Pack 3 Release News & Update: What To Expect From EVO 2016 Unveiling

The anticipated release of "Mortal Kombat X" DLC Kombat Pack 3 could be on hand. Speculations are that developer NetherRealm will have great news for gamers at the EVO 2016 event that is taking place this July 15-17 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The said event will hold its annual championship series, which includes bouts among gamers of "Mortal Kombat X," per its official site. But while NetherRealm's hands are tied for its development of "Injustice 2" that is slated for a 2017 release, Ed Boon, one of the co-creators and head of the company, hinted that "Mortal Kombat X" has not been taking a back seat.

In fact, he posted on Twitter in June that something is up for "Mortal Kombat X," and he emphasized on the letters E-V-O in his message. Fans of the game immediately knew what this meant.

'Mortal Kombat X' DLC Kombat Pack 3 Beloved Characters

So, what potential update will NetherRealm have for "Mortal Kombat X" fans at the EVO? It is assumed that the news will be about the much-awaited Kombat Pack 3. Specifically, the last DLC release didn't have many of the beloved characters that fans were expecting, despite NetherRealm teasing Smoke, Fujin and Sindel in its social media sites.

Will these characters be finally in the game this time around? Will other fan favorites like Rain, Jade and Li Mei also be in it? This would be the really cool news the fans have been waiting for.

'Mortal Kombat X' DLC For PC

If the EVO event news won't be about Kombat Pack 3, then there are also speculations that the announcement might be good news for PC gamers. Because "Mortal Kombat X" dropped DLC support for PC in the early months of 2016, some players are hoping the developing company could consider having it back.

Expectedly, the drop caused an outraged among gamers, but Ed Boon stated that fans have been misinformed, and that a Mac version of "Mortal Kombat X" is in the works, per another Twitter post. NetherRealm has been silent about this fact for a while, but there's a chance this is the news fans will get to hear about at the EVO this week, too.

It's only a matter of days till the EVO. In the meantime "Mortal Kombat X" fans are keeping their fingers crossed something good.
