Fans of "The Vampire Diaries" are excited for "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 due to Nina Dobrev's return. Many are looking forward to seeing Elena and Damon's reunion. Unfortunately, according to recent reports, there is no reunion and Ian Somerhalder, himself, is even devastated.

No Elena-Damon Reunion In 'The Vampire Diaries' Season 8

According to CelebDirtyLaundry, Ian Somerhalder is devastated that there's no Elena and Damon reunion in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8. It looks like, Nina Dobrev is not in for the upcoming season.

Per the report, "The Vampire Diaries" show creator Julie Plec posted a series of photos of the cast enjoying their dinner together to announce that the ball is rolling for "TVD" season 8. Nina Dobrev isn't in any of the photos but Ian Somerhalder's wife, Nikki Reed is in.

Is Nina Dobrev returning in "The Vampire Diaries 8?" Why isn't she in the photos. Could it be that she's just busy filming "Flatliners" in Toronto and didn't make it in the said dinner?

Previous reports claim that Elena and Damon's reunion is the only solution to save "The Vampire Diaries" from cancellation. Julie Plec hinted that she will have Nina Dobrev return for the final season and many believe that season 8 will be the last in the series after Kat Graham and Ian Somerhalder, himself, announced that this will be their last.

Nikki Reed Not Affected With Elena-Damon Reunion In 'The Vampire Diaries' Season 8

On a separate note, in case the production pursues the Elena-Damon reunion in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8, it will not be a big thing for Nikki Reed. According to the Bitbag, the "Sleepy Hollow" star is not affected in case her husband and his ex-sweetheart reconcile their on-screen romance.

Per the report, Nikki Reed trusts her husband so much, despite the reports that he is cheating on her. Some sources also claim that Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder still have feelings for each other and might rekindle their love for each other when they work together. "TVD" fans can confirm or deny this when they see the pair on-screen again.
