"Marco Polo" Season 2 is about to get sexier, raunchier, and racier as new photos released showed that there are more scenes to be featured showing the characters having sexy times. However, despite the addition of new characters and the direction to where the show is heading, it is rumored that it will no longer be renewed for season 3 due to the drop in the ratings.

The Netflix original series is about ancient China and shows the world of sexual intrigue, rivalry amongst siblings, greed, and betrayal. "Marco Polo" is created by John Fusco and is based on the adventures of legendary explorer Kublai Khan during the 113th Century China. The plot also centers on the battle for the Mongol empire's expansion.

What to Expect in Upcoming Episodes of 'Marco Polo' Season 2

For the first season of "Marco Polo," fans were able to see some odd and raunchy scenes but fans are in it for the long haul as the new promo photos suggest even more vulgar scenes. In one of the photos, there are two naked bodies while in another, a kissing scene between two characters was featured. Another snap showed one of the character's breasts and the last promo photo showed one man being surrounded by numerous naked women.

"Marco Polo" Season 2 now features "Crouching Tiger," "Hidden Dragon," and "Tomorrow Never Dies" actress Michelle Yeoh. She plays the mysterious figure from Hundred Eyes' past. Fusco said in a recent statement that Yeoh's character for Season 2 is going to add "even more intrigue, mystery, and Asian martial arts to our rich story world."

Is There a 'Marco Polo' Season 3?

Netflix has not released any statement yet regarding the possibility of having a season 3 for "Marco Polo" but speculations have surfaced claiming that it might not be renewed for another season due to the low ratings of Season 2, The Bitbag reported.

The first season of "Marco Polo" was well-received by fans but since the premiere of Season 2, the ratings have declined. Another issue for a renewal is said to be the budget of the show. Accordingly, it is one of the most expensive TV shows as the series was produced with $90 million.
