‘Empire’ Season 3 Spoilers, Latest News & Updates: Kid Cudi, Taye Diggs To Join ‘Empire’ Cast? Upcoming Season To Reveal Who Fell Off The Balcony In The Previous Season

As "Empire" season 3 premiere looms, latest reports about the upcoming season of the hit FOX series are getting more interesting. In fact, executive producer Ilene Chaiken recently shared some juicy details on the show's guest stars and plotlines.

Before delving deeper on the latest scoops about the upcoming "Empire" season 3, fans were left with one big question on their minds - what will happen next to Rhonda (Kaitlin Doubleday) and Anika (Grace Gealey), who were in the middle of a fight? In the previous season finale, fans saw one of the feuding women falling off a roof in the Big Apple.

Who Fell Off The Balcony In 'Empire' Season 3?

As "Empire" season 3 will follow the events in the previous season, showrunner Ilene Chaiken reportedly confirmed that fans will find out who fell off the balcony in the earlier episodes of the season. In an interview with TVLine, Chaiken also admitted how hard it is for the show to lose either Rhonda or Anika.

"We talk about what would be the best and most delicious story to tell in the next season," Chaiken said. "We love both of these characters and both of these actresses - and it's hard to think about losing either one of them. In this instance, there's no character motivation to consider: One of them is simply going to win the fight, and the other is likely to be gone. It's in the hands of the gods, and whoever survives is going to have quite a story."

'Empire' Season 3 Recurring Cast And Guest Stars

Aside from knowing who fell off the roof during the season 2 finale, "Empire" season 3 will also introduce rapper Xzibit as a series regular. According to Pop Sugar, Xzibit's character has a "long history" with Lucious (Terrence Howard) and that history may be haunting him in the upcoming season.

As for the guest stars and recurring cast in "Empire" season 3, "Rosewood" star Taye Diggs will be back as Angelo Dubois, a Harvard law degree holder and city councilman from a well-respected and wealthy New York family. Diggs will reportedly make his "Empire" season 3 in the premiere episode on Sept. 21, TV Guide reveals.

In addition, musician-actor Scott Mescudi aka Kid Cudi will also be joining "Empire" season 2 cast as rapper Gram, who is also Hakeem's (Bryshere "Yazz" Gray) rival and Tiana's (Serayah McNeill) lover, Entertainment Weekly reports. Diggs and Kid Cudi will join other "Empire" season 3 guest stars including Sierra McClain, French Montana and Birdman.

Cookie To Reconcile With Lucious In 'Empire' Season 3?

As seen on "Empire" season 3 poster (via Entertainment Weekly), the upcoming season may not be focusing on the cliffhanging season 2 finale. Instead, the poster seemed to suggest a reconciliation between feuding exes Lucious and Cookie Lyon (Taraji P. Henson), Parent Herald previously reported.

Meanwhile, "Empire" season 3 is scheduled to premiere on Sept. 21, Wednesday, at 9 p.m. on Fox. Are you excited for the series' brand new season? Share your thoughts below and follow Parent Herald for more news updates.
