Ryan Reynolds Blake Lively Baby Daughter's Name is 'James'

The news the world is waiting for has finally been revealed! US Magazine reported that Ryan Reynolds has finally revealed the name of his baby girl with wife, Blake Lively.

The actor revealed the secret three months after the little one was born. That was quite a long time to keep a big news a secret. Reynolds made the surprising announcement to Willie Geist in an interview for pre-taped viewing on "The Today Show" on Friday.

The actor initially joked that he and Lively actually named their daughter Butternut Summersquash on "Today". However, later on, the "Woman in Gold" star admitted that the baby's name was James.

"It's James. Everyone knows, and I told everyone who would listen before it was out there that I didn't want to be the first guy screaming it out to the media because, as we know, little girls turn into teenage girls and little teenage girls sometimes scan through the archives and go, 'Why did you do that?'"

In a guest appearance on "The David Letterman Show" last month, Reynolds explained the meaning behind his little girl's secret name and why he kept her name a secret from the public.

"I threw out the idea of just never naming the kid to be totally original, but we have a name. I just don't want to say it in, like, a media context. I tell everyone who I meet, so it'll come out."

Several rumors were going around prior to Reynolds' announcement that the baby girl's name was Violet, as divulged by a Hollywood Life article. However, the baby's father quickly denied the false rumor. Reynolds reportedly said in a USA Today interview, "No, that's not the name. I don't want to get into that but I don't know where that came from."

Lively has been a mother to little James since December last year, as revealed in ET Online. The "Gossip Girl" star has always been transparent about her joy of becoming a mother. Two months ago, the actress told People magazine she was open to having many kids in the future.

"I do want to just enjoy this moment," she said. "But I also feel like my first child is going to be the oldest sibling to the next kid, and that may change with each and every year. I'm looking forward to how one baby influences the other, and to my family as a whole, to every single chapter."
