Greg Monroe being a low-post player is in-demand today because they are difficult to find. At the time,two NBA teams in the league, New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs are trying to convince Greg Monroe to join their team, Inquisitr reported.

At the time, Knicks have an impressive lineup when they win the NBA All-Stars Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah. However, Knicks is trying to grow their roster by adding the Milwaukee Bucks center and power forward, Greg Monroe. No doubt, Monroe will be a great addition to Knick's frontline.

Spurs Wants Monroe To Replace Tim Duncan

Earlier this month, the power forward and center of San Antonio Spurs, Tim Duncan announced his retirement. In his 19 years in NBA, Duncan has several achievements including his being a five-time champion, 15-time All-Star, two-time MVP and three-time Finals MVP, per SBNation.

Tim Duncan along with Gregg Popovich transformed San Antonio Spurs into a powerhouse franchise and into a stronger and more competitive team in the NBA league. Duncan's effective style on the basketball court earned him the nickname "The Big Fundamental" and his retirement is a big loss to the team. That's why Spurs is desperate to find a good replacement for him.

According to Morning News USA, San Antonio Spurs is now eyeing Greg Monroe to take Tim Duncan's place on the team. Monroe has the same skills and position with Duncan on the basketball court. Both players are a talented power forward and center.

Monroe and Popovich are expected to compliment one another just like Duncan and Popovich's tandem. There is no doubt that Monroe is the best replacement for Tim Duncan. So, if Spurs want to beat the NBA super-teams like Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors they should get Monroe sign on their team.
