‘Suicide Squad’ Spoilers: Ezra Miller’s The Flash Making An Appearance; Scarlet Speedster To Fight Jai Courtney’s Captain Boomerang?

A new cast announcement for "Suicide Squad" was revealed via a press kit days before the film bows in theaters. The full cast list showed Ezra Miller's The Flash, also known as Barry Allen, appearing in the anti-hero flick.

Check out the full cast list on Gizmodo. Miller's The Flash was first seen in "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice." The DC superhero is also in 2017's "Justice League."

The "Suicide Squad" cast list was organized in order of appearance. The Scarlet Speedster is appearing before main characters Diablo (Jay Hernandez), Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje), June Moone/Enchantress (Cara Delevingne), and Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman).

Captain Boomerang Facing The Flash In 'Suicide Squad?'

Rumors about Miller's cameo in "Suicide Squad" first surfaced after eagle-eyed fans saw signs of the superhero's appearance in the trailer. We previously reported that in the trailer, Jai Courtney's Captain Boomerang was thrown back by a flash of lightning presumably from the Scarlet Speedster.

There's another scene in "Suicide Squad" that showed Boomerang ending up in what appears to be the inside of a building rather than the train station where The Adversary's force and the rest of his anti-hero gang are in. This footage suggests that there could be another moment where Boomerang was robbing a bank -- hence the bag he's holding in his hand -- but Flash thwarts him. The Hollywood Reporter also said (via sources) that Miller's Flash is not in the end credits, but in the film itself.

What About Batman?

It should be noted, however, that Ben Affleck's long-rumored Batman cameo wasn't listed in the "Suicide Squad" press kit. But there have been reports stating that the Dark Knight would come after the Joker (Jared Leto) and Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) in the flick.

"Suicide Squad" takes place after the events of "Batman v. Superman," Gizmodo noted. Flash's appearance in the upcoming movie could signify DC Extended Universe's interlocking films that tie the characters' affairs together, much like how the Marvel Cinematic Universe does in its projects, THR added.

We know by now the great lengths the "Suicide Squad" cast went into (e.g. Leto) to fully commit to their roles as powerful and mentally unhinged people. Just recently, Courtney revealed that even the film's director, David Ayer, encouraged his cast of super villains to go crazy and even unabashedly sheared "chunks of hair" off the actor's head so he'd "look like bad news," Yahoo reported.

"Suicide Squad" will be released in U.S, theaters on August 5. The film is projected for a $125 million opening weekend.
