J.K Rowling Says she is Done With 'Harry Potter'; Announces 'Cursed Child' Play, Book Last of Franchise

Renowned author J.K. Rowling has announced the inevitable as she said that the book and the play "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" is the last of the "Harry Potter" franchise. The author noted that she thinks she is done with the well-loved characters.

During the premiere of "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child," which is a London-based play that follows the lead character of the franchise as an adult with three children, Rowling said that there will be no new set of stories for the characters from her latest book.

Rowling continued to share about the end of the "Harry Potter" era, "[Harry] goes on a very big journey during these two plays and then, yeah, I think we're done. This is the next generation, you know. So, I'm thrilled to see it realized so beautifully but, no, Harry is done now."

Rowling might have been long done with "Harry Potter" as she went on to reveal that she had no intentions of writing another book after the seventh and final novel "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows," E! News reported. She pointed out that she never wanted to write another novel but "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" will give fans "something special" since it is about the next generation.

"Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" parts I and II went on sale on Sunday midnight. It has received many reviews and high number of pre-order records. The play will run from today until December of 2017. Aside from Harry Potter and his three children, it will also see Ron and Hermione 19 years after the final novel. It focuses on Harry's son Albus.

The "Harry Potter" novels resulted to blockbuster films and theme park attractions that fans came to love.
