'Lucifer' Season 2 Spoilers & Latest News: Will Lucifer, Amenadiel & Mom Go To Family Therapy?

The arrival of Charlotte, Lucifer and Amenadiel's mom on "Lucifer," will definitely shake the dynamics between the characters on the show. Mom spells like trouble and Lucifer made that clear at the end of the first season. Will the boys and their mom eventually book a session with Dr. Linda for a much-needed family therapy?

Tom Ellis, the star of "Lucifer," shared that Charlotte (Tricia Helfer) -- who looks about the same age as her sons and is an absolute knock out -- didn't always look so hot. The actor hinted that they will have to deal with Mom's new look in the first episode of "Lucifer" Season 2. "We're going to have a lot of fun with that," the actor stated via TV Line.

Viewers might also see some flirtation with mom and her sons in the first episode, which might suggest "Oedipal undertones." However, that's not all this family will have to deal with in "Lucifer" Season 2. Trica Helfer shared that resentments and anger issues between mom and sons will also come to fold in the new season.

Charlotte's confused sons will be worried about what Mom is really doing in Los Angeles. The actress said that there's a big reason, but she can't say much about what this is yet. She also reiterated that at the end of the day, Charlotte is a mother who loves her sons. Her maternal side will be expounded in the show as well. The actress has already been upgraded to series regular, when her role was originally meant to be semi-regular.

Mom's arrival on "Lucifer" Season 2 sounds like a complication for the brothers, which has fans wondering whether Dr. Linda (Rachael Harris), Lucifer's therapist, could help thresh out their issues together. "Lucifer" is actually going to have a session with the doctor on the show's first episode back, as showrunner Joe Henderson shared on Twitter. You can bet he's going to talk about his mother during therapy.

"Lucifer" Season 2 returns on Fox on Monday, Sept. 19. Check out previews from the upcoming season in the video below.
