‘How To Get Away With Murder’ Season 3 Spoilers, Latest News Updates: Upcoming Season To Feature New Format, More Complex Storylines?

It has been previously reported that "How to Get Away with Murder" season 3 will be featuring more dramatic storylines. As a matter of fact, executive producer Pete Nowalk has recently teased "HTGAWM" fans on what should they expect in the upcoming season through a series of Instagram posts.

In less than two months, "How to Get Away with Murder" season 3 will be finally making an explosive television comeback as the series returns to its "case-of-the-week" format. As Parent Herald previously noted, the upcoming season will equally deal with the characters' backstories and the courtroom drama plots.

Speaking of the characters' backstories in "How to Get Away with Murder" season 3, Christian Today hinted that the upcoming season may explore Bonnie's (Liza Weil) and Frank's (Charlie Weber) backstories. Additionally, the storylines in the third season of "HTGAWM" will also be "rich, complex and worth-seeing."

"The storylines that I have in my head are very rich and complex, so I don't know when we'll tell them, but I think they are worth seeing," Nowalk said.

Nowalk added that he also wanted to delve into Michaela's (Aja Naomi King) adopted family and to know the identity of Laurel's (Karla Souza) dad. By depicting other major characters' backstories, their roles will be more "believable and possible."

"It's about making their characters feel believable and possible and those are the stories that I really want to continue," Nowalk told Variety in March. "I want to find out who Laurel's father is, I want to find out who Michaela's adopted family is and how that ties into who they are."

Meanwhile, lead character Annalise Keating (Viola Davis) will also be facing some interesting challenges in "How to Get Away with Murder" season 3. As a matter of fact, Ecumenical News hinted the coming of Annalise's "formidable enemy" in the upcoming season.

As previously reported, "Dexter" star Luna Vélez has been cast to play the role of Annalise's boss and the new president of Middleton University in "How to Get Away with Murder" season 3. According to TVLine, Vélez's character is "self-assured, friendly, warm and diplomatic" but only to those who do not hide any secrets.

Another interesting character to watch out in "How to Get Away with Murder" season 3 is Frank. The reason? Well, let's just say that fans need to see how Frank will deal with his relationship with Annalise despite the tension and animosity between them.
