‘Scorpion’ Season 3 Spoilers, Latest News Updates: Upcoming Season To Delve Deeper Into Walter, Toby’s Friendship Amid Challenging Romantic Experiences

In less than two months, "Scorpion" season 3 will be finally making an explosively interesting television comeback. Although fans were disappointed about the real-life breakup of the "Waige" love team, they will get to see some new developments between Walter O'Brien (Elyes Gabel) and Paige Dineen (Katharine McPhee) as onscreen lovers.

A week ago, many fans were shocked when real-life couple and "Scorpion" season 3 stars Elyes Gabel and Katharine McPhee announced their breakup after almost two years of dating. But in spite of their separation, Parent Herald previously reported that the ex-couple had an amicable breakup and were on good terms.

"It's amicable and they remain friends..." a source said, as per E! News. "They're still friends and work together almost every day. They still love each other but just couldn't make things work."

Even though the "Waige" love team has broken up in real-life, Gabel and McPhee assured their fans that they don't need to worry about the future of their characters in "Scorpion" season 3. In fact, they stressed that the onscreen relationship of the Walter and Paige love team will be unaffected.

Aside from the potential romance, "Scorpion" season 3 might also deal with Toby (Eddie Kaye Thomas) and Walter's relationship toward each other. According to CarterMatt, Toby and Walter sometimes don't get along too well but they have the best kind of friendship on TV, especially when Toby encourage Walter to finally admit his feelings toward Paige.

CarterMatt also added that it would be "fun to see" an entire "Scorpion" season 3 episode with Toby and Walter in it. The episode will reportedly give the characters an opportunity to bond while recognizing their strengths in a way that they don't often "get a chance to."

Meanwhile, fans are really hoping for a "Waige" romance in "Scorpion" season 3. Unfortunately, Celeb Dirty Laundry hinted that a romantic relationship between Walter and Paige is next to impossible as they aren't on the same page anymore with what they feel towards each other but it stressed that a lot of resolution will be revealed in the upcoming season.

"In terms of what's coming up this year, there's a lot of stuff," "Scorpion" season 3 executive producer Nicholas Wootton said, as per Cinema Blend. "We're going to actually be taking characters in different directions as opposed to love interests."

In addition, "Scorpion" season 3 will also follow Toby and Happy's (Jadyn Wong) love story following the marriage proposal rejection in the previous season, not to mention the revelation of the identity of Happy's husband. The new season of the series is set to premiere on Oct. 3 at 9 p.m. on CBS, where fans can expect some exciting space mission and Civil War episodes, The Christian Times noted.
