'Avengers 2: Age of Ultron' Star Jeremy Renner Says Being Daddy is His Best Role

Oscar-nominated actor Jeremy Renner may have had some of the most exciting roles in his movie career, but the Hollywod star admits that nothing comes close to his role as a doting dad to his daughter, Ava.

During his appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" last Wednesday, April 15, the 44-year-old "Avengers: Age of Ultron" star revealed that being a father to his 2-year-old has been his "best role to date" and it has definitely changed his perspective.

"It's kind of screwed my career in a lot of ways, because I don't really care about it so much, 'cause I care about her so much. She's like No. 1 in my life. And now, I get to do movies on the side. Daddy's my best role to date, I think," said Renner on the show, as reported by ABC News. His revelation elicited a big round of applause from the show's audience.

Ava Berlin Renner was born on March 2013 to the actor and his estranged wife, Sonni Pacheco, whom he married in January 2014 and divorced in December of that same year. Following a nasty proceeding to dissolve their marriage, the court granted the ex-couple joint custody of Ava earlier this month, according to People Magazine.

Renner is making sure that Ava gets to see her father regularly. He was recently filming on location in London but made sure to fly back to his daugther every week to "see her, sometimes for eight hours" before heading back to work on the other side of the pond again.

On top of raising a toddler, the actor is currently juggling movie commitments, such as the release and promotion of expected blockbuster films like "Avengers: Age of Ultron" and "Mission Impossible 5: Rogue Nation." He will soon begin filming "Captain America: Civil War," a franchise he will be joining for the first time. But Renner admits that he has the full support of his extended family, who are more than willing to take Ava into their fold when daddy is busy.

The eldest of seven children, the "Hawkeye" actor shared that he also has a 2-year-old sibling, who was born on the same week as Ava. His baby brother makes for a fitting playmate for his own daughter.
