‘Nintendo NX’ News Update: Handheld Console To Win Smartphone, PS3 Users?

New portable gaming console Nintendo NX has been generating a good amount of buzz. Mostly this is because Nintendo NX is something of a curiosity.

Express cites report that the Nintendo NX design targets both console and smartphone gamers. With Nintendo NX, the Nintendo company will try to wean smartphone users and to win console gamers alike.

MVC reports that Game Freak is onboard with bringing the "Pokemon" games to Nintendo NX players with its initial release. "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" and the latest "Mario" game will also be among the offerings on Nintendo NX.

Nintendo NX will reportedly make games available through (possibly 32 GB) cartridges. Tech Radar notes that Nintendo NX shares this feature with the Nintendo 3DS.

What exactly will Nintendo NX look like? MCV cites details indicating that Nintendo NX will be a handheld console equipped with detachable controllers. These controllers are originally attached to the sides of the portable Nintendo NX.

  When these controllers are detached, the screen gets a fold out stand. The Nintendo NX can be easily plugged to a TV.

Tech Radar recalls reports that Nintendo is believed to be developing a fitness-focused horseshoe-shaped controller. The media agency proposes that the detachable controllers will Nintendo NX to use this oddly shaped controller layout.

According to Express, the Nintendo NX users will enjoy game graphics, which reportedly sits between a PS3 and PS4 graphic grade. The Nintendo NX will also reportedly house the Nvidia Tegra mobile processor.

To be sure, a source qualifies to MCV that PS4 users would not be interested in Nintendo NX. All the same, smartphone and PS3 users make up a massive chunk of the market for Nintendo NX to target.

Eurogamer reports that confirmation is still pending on the availability of digital download support for Nintendo NX games. Significantly, Ninendo NX will not feature backward compatibility.
