Dobrev's return in "TVD" Season 8 has allegedly caused problems for the married couple with some alleging that Somerhalder and Reed are headed for a divorce. The publication notes that Somerhalder did not seem thrilled when series creator Julie Plec announced that Dobrev made a promise to return for the series finale.

There are speculations that Somerhalder is using his might to prevent Dobrev's return in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8. This may include a threat to leave the show even before it concludes on air.

However, Gossip Cop refuted the Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed divorce rumors in a recent report. According to the publication, Reed and Somerhalder are not experiencing any marital problems.

The publication also notes that Reed is not, in any way, threaten by Dobrev's return in "TVD" Season 8. This means that Dobrev may be free to return to The CW series anytime in order to give Delena fans the ending they have been wanting to see.
