‘Pokémon GO’ Tips & Tricks: How To Get Pikachu As Starter Pokémon; Ways To Catch Bulbasaur, Dragonite, Dratini & Lapras

Players of "Pokémon GO" are on the hunt for rare Pokémon. Here are some tips on how and where to acquire Bulbasaur, Dragonite, Dratini, and Lapras, and how to get Pikachu as your starter Pokémon.

Pikachu is probably among the most famous -- and most loved -- Pokémon out there. It makes sense that "Pokémon GO" players would want to acquire this cute creature. For those who have just started playing the game, getting Pikachu as a starter Pokémon is a lot easier.

First-time players are allowed to pick their starter Pokémon from three choices, but none of those options are Pikachu. To get the creature, players should simply move away and ignore the three choices. Eventually, Pikachu will pop up after 2-5 re-spawns, Ecumenical News reported.

If you already got your starter Pokémon and still want to do the Pikachu trick, you can do this by clearing all the data on the Application Manager option of your device and restart the app. According to The Bitbag, the Pikachu trick is still the best way to acquire the pocket monster, though it can still be found near parks, railway tracks, or in sites with a greater concentration of electricity due to its electric-type characteristic. Finding Pikachu in those locations, however, is rare.

Like Pikachu, Dragonite is a rare catch and is usually spotted in forests or on streets. Putting lure modules near PokéStops can help you acquire a Dragonite from these areas. Once Dragonite or Dragonair appear, you need to use a higher level Pokéball including Great Ball or Ultra Ball to catch it. Loads of Razz Berries are needed as well, according to Mobile & Apps.

The easier trick to acquire a Dragonite is by catching Dratini -- its earlier iteration and is an easier catch -- and evolve it to Dragonite later on, or hatch your 10KM eggs. Dratini is commonly found near bodies of water such as lakes and rivers.

To evolve Dratini to Dragonair, 25 Dratini candies are needed. From Dragonair, 100 Dratini candies are required to have a Dragonite.

Bulbasaur, meanwhile, is usually found in locations with plenty of grass and plants including parks, fields, and golf courses. Lapras, a Pokémon that dwells in water, can be spotted near bodies of water such as piers, lakes, and rivers.

Lapras, however, has no evolution and the only way to acquire it is to use 10KM eggs or catch one in the areas listed above, Mobile & Apps noted. Razz Berries will help you catch this Pokémon.
