'American Horror Story' Season 6 Latest News & Update: Charles Manson and the Manson Family as Main Plot?

"American Horror Story" is back with another creepy, hair-raising, spine-tingling season, and multiple hints from the makers of the hit horror show, suggest that this season's plot could be focused on notorious psychopathic murderer and cult leader Charles Manson and his followers, the Manson Family.

"American Horror Story" has been known to raise the bar and push the limits when it comes to scaring the pants off of their fans, with previous seasons delving deep into very dark themes. The creators of the show always make daring decisions with the series' plots, and if they indeed stick with the rumored "Manson" storyline, it's definitely going to be a very gruesome "American Horror Story" season 6.

Ever since the trailer for "American Horror Story" Season 6 was revealed, fans of the show have immediately tried to guess what this season's theme was going to be, much like the previous seasons of AHS. Fans have picked up clues from the show's promotional teasers, proving that "American Horror Story" season 6 could definitely be about Charles Manson.

One theory suggesting that the Mansons will be featured in season 6 of "American Horror Story," was the word "PIG", in of the promotional teasers. "PIG" was written in blood on the door of a house, where one of the Manson Family's real life victims, Sharon Tate was found dead. Also, the word "PIG" in the teaser was shown in some kind of nursery. Sharon Tate was weeks away from giving birth, according to the Huffington Post.

Another theory that speculates Charles Manson's involvement in season 6 of "American Horror story," is the show's promotional poster. The image, which was posted on the "AHS" Facebook page, shows a woman sleeping with spiders coming out of her eyes. Charles Manson, while incarcerated, created numerous spider-themed art.

This wouldn't come off as a surprise for "American Horror Story" to feature a real life nightmare, such as the Manson family. "AHS" creator, Ryan Murphy, in an interview with Deadline in 2013, says that he has always wanted the portrayal of the Mansons in the show, saying "I want to do an entire season about the [Charles] Manson case." But then we decided that wasn't respectful to the victims", adding "We might go back to the Manson thing in some regard one day. We spend a lot of time specifically trying to get the look and the tone of it right. Every year has a different tone."

Fans will have to wait until the premier of "American Horror Story" Season 6 on September 14, to find out if Charles Manson and his infamous "family", will indeed be the focus of this season's plot.
