Ed Decter, the executive producer left the show "Shadowhunters" after its debut year. Moving on, the series picked up two surfboards during the 2016 Teen Choice Awards. The event took place at The Forum on Sunday, July 31, in Inglewood. The cast of the series had attended the event. Will Ed Decter's exit have an impact on "Shadowhunters" Season 2? Jace has also joined hands with Valentine to create a new breed of Shadowhunters, reported YIBADA.

Will their quest take Jace and Valentine to the City of Ashes and City of Glass in "Shadowhunters" Season 2? While there are suggestions that the series will take in certain plot lines from even the third book in the book series, "Shadowhunters" Season 2 might deviate to an extend also. There are rumors that viewers might get a glimpse of the shadowhunters' homeland, Idris, toward the finale.

Freeform has yet to announce the specific premiere date of "Shadowhunters" Season 2. It is expected that Jace, Clary, Simon, Alec (Matthew Daddario), Isabelle (Emeraude Toubia) and Magnus (Harry Shum Jr.) will make their appearance again. There are rumors which suggest that "Shadowhunters" Season 2 will return by January 2017.
