NBA Trade Rumors: Cavs Trading Kevin Love In Three-Team Deal With Celtics & Kings? Other Players Also Involved

Rumors about the Cleveland Cavaliers' plan to trade Kevin Love has been brewing for quite some time now. Just recently, that rumor has gained traction once again after new reports have surfaced about a three-team deal that involves the Cavs, Boston Celtics, and Sacramento Kings.

In the last NBA season, Love had a remarkable performance in Cavs' Game 7 match against the Golden State Warriors. Cavs' head coach Tyrone Lue said via ESPN Radio that the power forward and center's recent achievements cemented his place in the team and that he's not going to other organizations any time soon.

That decision about Love's future in Cavs, however, would likely change now that the Warriors is being called a super team due to their recent acquisition of Kevin Durant. It makes sense that the Cavs would want to top that.

King James Gospel suggested that there's a three-team deal being formulated between the Cavs, Celtics, and Kings. In that deal, Cavs will trade Love to the Celtics and they will get Kings' DeMarcus Cousins. The Kings, meanwhile, will have the Celtics' Marcus Smart and Jae Crowder. King James Gospel's Aaron Ferguson added that other players and picks will be involved in the three-team deal as well for salary purposes.

Parent Herald previously reported about LeBron James wanting to trade Love for Cousins. The Cavs was reportedly impressed at Cousins' excellent performance at the Rio Olympics Games 2016 against China that they are willing to let go of Love for him.

Cousins' 6-foot-11 height and 270-pound weight is also a welcome addition to both the Cavs' offensive and defensive sides. James, the Cavs' de factor general manager, also thinks that Cousins' aesthetic matches his on the court and strengthens their chances of defending their title.

According to Sportsrageous, the Kings would also have huge benefits from this potential three-team trade. They have signed tall players in the last two years and a guard and wing in the form of Smart and Crowder will be a big help to the Kings' performance. The Celtics, meanwhile, can use Love as the floor stretcher while Al Horford protects the rim on defense and Isaiah Thomas attacks on the opposite end.
