In a Reddit forum, one particular "Dragon Ball Super" episode 55 theory pitched by fan Fratomon claimed that Trunks, Vegeta and Goku are going back to Trunks' timeline. While that has already been revealed by recent spoilers, the fan continued to speculate that Trunks will ultimately beat Black Goku once and for all.

However, the fan continued to speculate that in "Dragon Ball Super" episode 55, the fight between Trunks and Black Goku will somehow destroy the time machine. This will eventually cause Goku and Vegeta to get stranded in the future with Trunks.

"Gohan is ultimately forced to defeat Goku Black in the present," he added.
