New 'Harry Potter' Book News & Updates: JK Rowling Confirms Three Books Coming; Boy Who Lived Dead?

JK Rowling has just announced that we will be reading more from Hogwarts in the coming months as the billionaire author confirmed that three "Harry Potter" books with brand new content will make its way to smartphones and tablets soon. The ebooks, which will focus on other characters in the "Harry Potter" book universe, is the latest in a growth spurt in new material from the franchise.

The new "Harry Potter" book series, called "Stories from Hogwarts," will profile many different aspects of life at Hogwarts, Harpers Bazaar reported. The first book, "Short Stories from Hogwarts of Power, Politics and Pesky Poltergeists," chronicles Professor Umbridge's past and Voldemort's ascent to power. The second, on the other hand, "Short Stories from Hogwarts of Heroism, Hardship and Dangerous Hobbies," focus on Professor Remus Lupin and Professor Minerva McGonagall. The third, "Hogwarts: An Incomplete and Unreliable Guide" gives readers a sneak peek of different places inside the castle.

Earlier this month, a "Harry Potter" book in the form of the script of the play "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child," widely considered as the eight part in the series, has been dropped in stores, the Guardian reported. The play book replicated the worldwide success of the seven books in the official "Harry Potter" book series, becoming the fastest selling book of the decade with 2 million copies sold in the first 48 hours in the United States alone.

The respective release dates for the new "Harry Potter" books have not been announced yet but they are already available for pre-order via the Amazon UK website. Rumor has it that it will be available to Apple and Amazon users on September 6. Check back on Parent Herald as we will be posting more on the new "Harry Potter" books as we get more details.
