‘Final Fantasy XV’ Release Date, Latest News Updates: ‘FFXV’ Release Postponed? Square Enix Unveils New Game Details Amid Release Delay In November

Several avid "Final Fantasy" fans, including self-confessed "closet gamer" Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, were definitely disappointed when Square Enix moved the "Final Fantasy XV" release date almost two months after the game's initial global launch date. Based on the latest reports, the game's Sept. 30 release date was delayed to Nov. 29, 2016.

Even though fans have waited for almost a decade for the release of "Final Fantasy XV," many gamers and "FF" followers have still expressed their excitement over the upcoming release of the game sequel after the "Uncovered: Final Fantasy XV" fan event in Los Angeles last March. In fact, there's really more reason to be excited as Square Enix won't only be releasing the highly anticipated JPRG.

As Parent Herald previously reported, Square Enix will also launch a high-spec "Final Fantasy XV" PC version, a new platinum demo, a companion anime, full-length movie and two limited versions of the game. Unfortunately, the game publisher decided to delay the release of the sequel due to the quality of the game's content.

In a video published on YouTube, "Final Fantasy XV" director Hajime Tabata explained why the game's September release has been postponed. Based on the report of ArsTechnica, the game's "master disc version" has just been completed but the content wouldn't be of "highest possible quality" since the game's downloadable patch is expected to be done on Sept. 30.

"Our objective with Final Fantasy 15 was to deliver a Final Fantasy of the highest possible quality to every single person who buys the game," Tabata said, Polygon quoted. "We have completed the master version but when it comes to that highest possible quality, we felt that we had not quite reached that version yet. In order to make this master version an even better product, we have been creating a downloadable add-on known as a day-one patch."

In addition, Tabata also expressed his apology to all "Final Fantasy XV" fans for the longer wait but vowed that the upcoming game sequel will be near perfection to live up to fans' expectations, IGN noted. That's why, Square Enix will conduct quality testing as well as further polish the soon-to-be-released game.

It was also revealed that Square Enix was also contemplating to release more "Final Fantasy XV" patches and DLC in the future. In spite of the delay, the game publisher confirmed the delay won't have any impact on the Aug. 30 release date of "Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV" Aug. 30.

Meanwhile, Square Enix has recently released "Final Fantasy XV" master version gameplay video at the Gamescom Expo 2016. In fact, Wired has detailed what the hour-long gameplay has to offer - from its chapters to the interesting plotlines that have a hint of "romance, politics and war."

Moreover, "Final Fantasy XV" gameplay also teased the introduction of new monsters such as the giant scorpions and the "flame-throwing demon," as per Geek. Additionally, "FFXV" will also feature some side missions.

"Final Fantasy XV" is set to be released on Nov. 29 for both Xbox One and PS4 platforms. What are your thoughts on "FFXV" release delay? Sound off below and follow Parent Herald for more news and updates.
