'Jack Ryan' by Tom Clancy: An Exclusive Amazon Series

"Jack Ryan," the CIA agent is now back in action. Tom Clancy's famous fictional CIA agent faced a critical and commercial fail back in 2013. The show "Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit" turned out to be a disappointment. However, "Jack Ryan" is now going to be back on Amazon. John Krasinski will star in the 10-episode series which will be exclusive to Prime Video.

The plot lines of the series and the story angles of "Jack Ryan" are still not clear. However, there are indications that the series will be an origins story. Jack Ryan will be a CIA analyst fighting terrorist groups.

"Jack Ryan" franchise will be turned into a series for the first time ever. "Jack Ryan" was earlier made into five movies. The role of the protagonist was portrayed by four different actors. Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck, and Chris Pine have taken up the role in the movies, reported TV Line.

Taking in "Jack Ryan" as an exclusive series is a huge move made by Amazon. This strategy is Amazon's take on Netflix. Amazon is trying to make video streaming a major draw for a Prime subscription. Amazon already has an excellent line up of shows like "The Man in the High Castle," "Transparent," and "Hand of God." "Jack Ryan" joins the impressive bandwagon, reported Engadget.

John Krasinski, who will portray the role of the agent will be involved in a huge plot after he intercepts a terrorist communication. This happens while he is out on a field assignment. The series will be produced by Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes studio. They will join hands with Skydance Media and Paramount TV.
