NBA Trade Rumors: Cavaliers, 76ers And Lakers In A Three-Way Trade Talk Involving Jahlil Okafor?

According to NBA trade rumors, Philadelphia 76ers and Cleveland Cavaliers are in a trade talk involving Jahlil Okafor.

If you are following the NBA trade rumors this offseason, the latest buzz suggests that Philadelphia 76ers might be trading Jahlil Okafor to Cleveland Cavaliers. Well, this might be surprising to some who thought that 76ers are keeping Okafor.

At the time, reports have it that Cleveland Cavaliers are in need of big men on the basketball court to help them win their next NBA title. In fact, Parent Herald previously reported that Cavs is eyeing Philadelphia 76ers big men Nerlens Noel and Jahlil Okafor to be LeBron James running mate in the upcoming NBA season.

Cleveland Cavaliers running to Philadelphia for big men is not surprising. Per Centrio Times, Philadelphia 76ers president Bryan Colangelo already admitted that they have too many big men in the team. This triggers the speculations that they will be trading some.

The report suggests that 76ers is unlikely to trade their center Jahlil Okafor and might trade Nerlens Noel instead. However, Yibada  pointed out that Jahlil Okafor remains an option for Cleveland Cavaliers. The report noted that Okafor could give Cavs a great scoring center and an offensive threat.

Jahlil Okafor is averaging 17.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game during his rookie season. However, Okafor is not popular for his defense but this is something that can be developed eventually.

To persuade Philadelphia 76ers, the Cavs might send Iman Shumpert. However, 76ers might likely ask for more. The report suggests that Cavs should include the Los Angeles Lakers in their trade talk with 76ers.

With Cavaliers, 76ers and Lakers in a three-way trade talk the potential arrangement would be as follow. Jahlil Okafor goes to Cavs and Carl Landry lands to Lakers. Meanwhile, Philadelphia 76ers will receive two players, Cavs' shooting guard Iman Shumpert and Lakers shooting guard and power forward Nick Young.
