Internet Bully Smackdown: How Hollywood Dad Director Kevin Smith Defended His Daughter From Troll Who Called Her Ugly & Talentless

Hollywood director, writer and actor Kevin Smith is taking on an internet bully who attacked his 17-year-old daughter, Harley Quinn Smith, on social media. The father took to Instagram to address the troll and defend his teenager. He also dished out some very sound advice for the bully.

Kevin Smith was quite upset when an Instagram user, kingsysyphus, left a disparaging comment on his daughter's post on the photo sharing site. The troll called Harley Quinn ugly and lacking in talent. "You're cancer and I sincerely hope you and up like Lindsay Lohan and dead," kingsysyphus apparently wrote in part. The director screen captured the said comment and addressed the guy on his own Instagram account.

Kevin Smith wrote some scathing words for the bully. He also gave him an advice, saying that instead of attacking someone on the internet, the troll should just channel his energies towards something more creative. "You want attention? Don't make yourself mad, make something original and fun. Because if you're not being useful in this world you're being useless," wrote Kevin Smith in part.

What it's like to be my daughter: 17 year old @harleyquinnsmith_ received this message simply for the heinous crime of posting a pic of herself on @instagram. I have zero clue what the reference to #TheMatrix is all about but, wow - way to unload on a teen girl because YOU have nothing to do in life. But even though I should be apoplectic about it, my kid thought it was funny. "I'd be mad if I had a tiny dick and anonymous voice too," she said, bemused by the bitterness. But here's a nickel's worth of free advice for folks like this Troll: if you hate me (or my kid) this much, the better use of your time is to make YOUR dreams come true, instead of slamming others for doing the same. The best revenge is living insanely well - so if you wanna get back at a 17 year old girl for the grievous crime of enjoying her life, the best way to do it is to succeed in your OWN existence. Show the world WHY we should be paying attention to you instead of anyone else. Because randomly attacking others merely communicates how creatively and emotionally bankrupt you are. You think you have something to offer the world but others are getting all the attention? Don't bitch or punish the world: just create. Create something nobody's ever seen before and there is a good chance the world will notice you. Attacking teen girls on the Internet is the saddest form of masturbation that exists and requires no discernible skill or talent. You want attention? Don't make yourself mad, make something original and fun. Because if you're not being useful in this world you're being useless. Don't be useless: go make stuff that makes people happy! #KevinSmith #HarleyQuinnSmith #YogaHosers

However, this was not the first time Kevin Smith took on an internet troll. USA Today reports that Kevin Smith also lashed back at online bullies in 2013 after they attacked one of his female writers in the movie "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back." The director posted his comments about the incident on his official site. He asked his fans to treat women as equals and "conduct yourselves in [decent] fashion at all times."

Meanwhile, The father said that his daughter was actually amused by the whole incident. Talking to Daily Mail, Harley Quinn said that she initially got offended when someone insulted her. But she quickly set her bearings, saying she shouldn't care about the nasty attack. She said she's going to kill internet bullies with kindness.
