Hillary Clinton's 2016 Presidential Campaign Includes Calling Your Mom on Mother's Day

With Mother's Day only a week away, you might still be looking for a unique gift idea. However, Hillary Clinton may just have the answer for you. The presidential candidate recently launched a "Mother's Day gift idea" online and the offer should also help her presidential campaign.

"Give someone special in your life a Mother's Day gift to remember: A call from Hillary (on your behalf!) Enter now for your chance to win," says the description on her campaign website, referring to the Mother's Day gift idea. Users above 18 years old and living in America only have to enlist their email addresses to join and get the chance of having the Democratic presidential hopeful call their mother on Mother's Day.

Once the email address is sent, the website also provides a link for donating to the Clinton campaign with a message that reads, "Now increase your odds - chip in to be automatically entered again for another chance to win," according to the Daily Caller. Donations can be any amount from $5 to $2,700, but there's a fine print that emphasizes that a donation is not necessary and it is not actually going to affect one's chances when joining the Mother's Day contest.

The same campaign was also launched in a newsletter sent out to Clinton's supporters. The note on the email states, "You're an important part of this campaign, and that means you're important to me. So on Mother's Day, I'd like to call the mom in your life -- someone who is special to you and helped you get there -- and say thank you," according to the Inquisitr. This message clarifies that the call won't necessarily have to be one's mother because the gift can be for a mother figure in someone's life.

Clinton also sent out a message about the contest on her Twitter account. The sign-up will be until May 8. After which, five winners will get a call from the former Secretary of State.

This approach is a far cry from Clinton's campaign back in 2008, where her likeability factor suffered against then senator Barack Obama. This time, the former First Lady is trying to win the hearts of the public by including the love of family into her election agenda. In fact, her Twitter bio includes this description of her, "Wife, mom, grandma, women+kids advocate, FLOTUS, Senator, SecState, hair icon, pantsuit aficionado, 2016 presidential candidate."
