NBA 2K17 Updates, News, and Release Date

As the release of one of the most anticipated video games of the year from 2K Sports, NBA 2K17, draws near, fans have been treated with more and more reveals. With screenshots of players, upgraded gameplay, and an all new "My Career" story, NBA 2K17 is stirring up quite the buzz. Here is what we know so far.

Fans already know that Paul George is on the cover of the new NBA 2K17, along with the multi-cover Legend Edition featuring the Kobe Bryant tribute which comes in purple or gold, now it has recently been revealed that the 1992 Team USA will also be available for play. "The Dream Team" consisting of 11 NBA Hall of Famers including Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, Magic Johnson, and Larry Bird, can now be selected to play against the 2016 Team USA in epic matchup.

Also recently, numerous in-game screen shots have been released. Kevin Durant of the Golden State Warriors was one of the players who were recently uncovered, the NBA 2K17 Durant looked sleeker and much less muscular than his previous 2K counterparts, making him a look more realistic, according to Forbes. Other notable player screenshots from the game include the ones of Andre Drummond, Draymond Green, and Kyrie Irving.

In a report from IGN, a new system of gameplay has been revealed by Andrew Blumberg, the 2K Sports Brand Manager. According to Blumberg, rebounding has been made more difficult, instead of players simply grabbing the boards, NBA 2K17 will bring more physicality. Rebounders may now tip out the ball to a teammate if they can't catch it mid-air. Steals are also now harder to come by, so that player will no longer abuse them in-game.

A new storyline for NBA 2K17 was also recently leaked, where players will be mentored by Kobe Bryant himself, while progressing from high school to the pros. "The Black Mamba" will also serve as the agent for the player, who will make in-game decisions that could either make his career a stellar one or turn it into a disaster.

NBA 2K17 will be available on September 20, 2016, but fans may pre-order the game so that they may play as the 1992 Dream Team.
