Even as news reports say that Jimmy Butler is off the trade market, speculations are still swirling about a possible deal involving the 26-year-old shooting guard of the Chicago Bulls.
Tyler Sellers of Soaring Down South, made a case on how the Atlanta Hawks could trade the Olympic gold medalist Jimmy Butler. The Chicago Bulls reportedly engaged in trade talks with the Orlando Magic, Boston Celtics, and Minnesota Timberwolves, with the Celtics ready to trade No. 3 pick, Jae Crowder and Avery Bradley to get Jimmy Butler. But nothing came out of those rumored talks.
The publication also believes that Jimmy Butler is one of the biggest bargains a team could get this upcoming NBA season, having just signed a 5-year deal worth $95 million in July 2015. A deal with the Bulls involving Paul Millsap, Taurean Prince, and DeAndre Bembry, plus a 2017 first draft pick would be a perfect deal for the Bulls and the Hawks, if the latter would invest in it.
Jimmy Butler scored 20.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.6 steals per game in the 2015-2016 NBA Season. He was also part of the U.S. basketball in the 2016 Olympics in Rio, where they beat Serbia in the gold medal game with an ending score of 96-66.
In a related Chicago Bulls trade rumors, Sports Rageous said that the team is still eyeing to acquire Jahlil Okafor from the Philadelphia 76ers. The publication suggests that the Bulls give up Doug McDermott and Denzel Valentine to make the deal, which would also include Nik Staukas from the Sixers. Okafor would be a great pair for Robin Lopez for a bigger frontcourt. The addition of the 21-year-old center would also be in line with the Bulls' goal of having younger athletes.
What do you think about these NBA trade speculations? Would any of these turn out into something before the 2016-2017 season start in October?
