Kate Gosselin Reveals How She Parents 8 Children, Receives Backlash for Parenting Kids

In celebration of Mother's Day, Kate Gosselin's kids cooked breakfast for their beloved mom. As her children got in on the festivities, Gosselin reminisced on the experiences she went through in raising eight kids, according to Radar Online.

Gosselin admitted that she went to nursing school to become a good mother. "I went to nursing school so I could have better knowledge to take care of my kids and so I could support them if need be," she said. "That was the sole reason I went."

Gosselin acknowledged that the challenges of multi-tasking have overwhelmed her as a mom to many kids. She shared, "I don't like that feeling of being outnumbered, because outnumbered is feeling out of control and that's scary to me." She added, "Only so many things are controllable when you have that many kids and there was only one of me every week."

Adjusting to the arrival of her sextuplet siblings was not easy, according to Gosselin's daughter, Mady. "When they were born, it was the worst day of my life. I don't wish them to leave, but it was just not a good day for me," she divulged. "Then after that, they were there all the time and everything was about them."

As Gosselin shared both the pros and cons of raising her many children, she also revealed that she received backlash regarding her parenting skills.

The mom of eight's feelings were hurt from all the harsh criticisms she felt she did not deserve. "I know the world is now watching me parent alone," Gosselin revealed. "The criticism has been very harsh, the accusations have been insanely hurtful and absurd. But the bottom line is, I know I am doing the best for my children first and foremost."

She added, "I'm always doing the best that I know how. [You can] have your opinions because no one does everything right."

So what is Kate's message to the critics? She shared that her parenting skills are just as good as theirs, as reported in Thesir.cafemom.com.

The TLC reality star tries not to look too far ahead in the future. Gosselin said she takes all events in her life in stride. "I try not to borrow trouble from the future because at one time I couldn't picture having two 14-year-olds and six 11-year-olds," she disclosed. "I can't picture having eight teenagers in my house."

Meanwhile, an In Touch Weekly article reported that Gosselin was on a romantic getaway in Mexico with her rumored bodyguard boyfriend, Steve Neild, and her eight children. The reality star allegedly went on this overseas vacation to celebrate her 40th birthday in March.

Gosselin is mom to Cara and Mady, 14, Hannah, Collin, Alexis, Joel, Aaden and Leah, 11. She and then-husband, Jon Gosselin divorced in 2009 after having been married for 10 years.
