'Supergirl' Season 2 Spoilers & News: S1 Streaming On Netflix September; Cat Grant To Appear For 2 Episodes Only?

The first season of "Supergirl" is finally coming to Netflix this September. Ahead of the show's Season 2 return, subscribers to the streaming site will be able to binge watch the earlier episodes and get themselves acquainted with the story and characters.

But just don't get too attached to the character of Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart). Word has it that she will only be in "Supergirl" Season 2 for two episodes.

What's On Netflix reveals that "Supergirl" Season 1 will begin streaming on Netflix on Sept. 10, as part of the site's arrangement with The CW network. The first season of "Supergirl" is actually airing as reruns on The CW since the start of August. The network wants its viewers to be familiar with series following its move from CBS last season.

The move from one network to another has actually caused a few hitches and changes to "Supergirl" Season 2. Chief of which is the scaling down of Calista Flockhart's Cat Grant's screen time. Flockhart plays the boss of Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoit). However, because the actress' schedule can't allow her to shoot long hours in Vancouver, Cat Grant is not going to be around as much as fans hope in Season 2.

Screen Hype reports that Cat Grant might only be in two episodes for the entire Season 2 of "Supergirl." The assumption comes as executive producer Andrew Kreisberg confirms the character will be in the first and second episodes back.

When "Supergirl" Season 2 returns, Kara Danvers will be working under a new superior, Snapper Carr (Ian Gomez). "We're not focusing on what we don't have. We're focusing on what we do have," Kreisberg said of the changes, per Collider. Fans assume Cat Grant's character might eventually be eased out of "Supergirl" Season 2.

But there are also assumptions that Flockhart will be filming her scenes in advance, so that these can be used in future episodes. Viewers should know the real score for sure when "Supergirl" starts its new season run this October.
