NBA Trade News: Los Angeles Lakers Sign Two Players and Have Eyes on Veteran

The Los Angeles Lakers are without a doubt one of the busiest teams around the NBA in terms of recruitment and signing players on to their young squad. Recently, the Lakers have signed two new players in guard Julian Jacobs and forward Travis Wear, and now they are looking at acquiring veteran big man, Carl Landry.

The Los Angeles Lakers have a long storied history of championships, but until recent years, even just a spot in the playoffs have been somewhat out of reach. Now, the once great Lakers look to return to the top of the NBA world, by acquiring a handful of young talent, and a couple of experienced veterans to rebuild their core team.

Recently, the Los Angeles ball club have added two new young players to their roster. The Lakers have signed University of Southern California standout, Julian Jacobs, and former New York Knicks forward, Travis Wear, according to NBA.com. Jacobs, in his last season with the USC Trojans, finished with an average of 11.6 points and 4.9 rebounds, while Wear, who previously played for the Knicks, went on the play for the Liga ABC in Spain. While playing for the Knicks, Wear averaged 3.9 points and 2.1 rebounds in just 51 games.

After acquiring the two young players, the Lakers now have their eyes set on free agent Carl Landry, according to Lakers Nation. Landry played for the Philadelphia 76ers before being released over the summer. The 9-year NBA veteran is one of the more consistent scorers in the league, averaging 10 points per game during his career. In the last with the 76ers, he averaged 9.8 points and 4.1 rebounds.

With the new additions, the Lakers are now quite crowded in their roster. Los Angeles will now try to come up with the perfect rotation for the upcoming regular season.
