'Crazy Ex-Girlfriend' Season 2 Spoilers, Air Date & News: Theme Song Change In S2, Lin-Manuel Miranda Guest Stars?

"Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" is going to open with a new theme song when it returns for Season 2. As the story of Rebecca Bunch's (Rachel Bloom) love life shifts, the theme song is also going to delve into the new plot. It will supposedly suggest of a happier Rebecca. Meanwhile, a cast member hopes Lin-Manuel Miranda would appear in their show.

"Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" co-creator Aline Brosh McKenna revealed that the show's theme song, which plays during the opening credits, is going to be different for Season 2. Like the previous opening, it will encompass what the new season will be about. "The credits sequences, for us, are the thematic thesis statements of the season," said McKenna via TV Line.

With Rebecca finally admitting her reason for moving to West Covina in "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend," and with her and Josh finally hooking up last season, the new song will be inspired by Rebecca's positivity about her love life. "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" will highlight a Rebecca who thinks she finally has her happy ever-after, and apparently, those involved in creating the new opening came up with the perfect lyrics and movements to embody the new season.

As for the other characters, Yahoo reports that Valencia (Gabrielle Ruiz) will learn valuable lessons fro her breakup with Josh, while Greg (Santino Fontana) will still be very much in the picture for Rebecca. Vincent Rodriguez III, who plays Josh, hopes that they will be able to score Lin-Manuel Miranda for a guest spot after having Tony-winning star Lea Salonga last season. "If I could rap with Lin, I would die a happy man," the actor said.

Meanwhile, an upcoming episode of "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" Season 2 will feature a kid who will tutor Rebecca. Child actor Albert Tsai will be playing the character, described as a "confident kid" who helps Rebecca in an "important subject," per a Twitter post.
