Donald Trump Lawsuit: USA Freedom Kids Sue Republican Presidential Candidate For Breaking Agreement Regarding Payment

A group of little girls are going after Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump for breaking an agreement. The girls are members of the USA Freedom Kids, who have been seen performing at Trump's campaign soirees. They alleged that the presidential hopeful and his campaign staff have not paid them for their travel expenses, as originally agreed upon.

The Daily Beast reports that the performing group USA Freedom Kids has lodged a lawsuit against Donald Trump for failing to pay their travel expenses. The girls joined Trump's campaign in January to dance and sing at two events in Florida. The children, who are based in Iowa, had to cancel other performances in their hometown to accommodate the Trump campaign.

However, one of the girls' father, Jeff Popick, who also served as their manager, was advised in an email by a Trump staffer that they would not be given a stipend for their travel expenses. Instead, they would be provided a space at the events to sell USA Freedom Kids merchandise. Popick agreed because he thought it would be a fair deal and they could recoup their travel cost from the sales.

At the event, Popick and the kids were disappointed to learn that no space was actually given to the group. Worse, their merchandise ended up being stolen while the girls performed, according to New York Magazine.

Popick and the girls had been discussing about suing Donald Trump's team as early as July, when it appeared that Trump's campaign organizers had no plans of correcting their oversight. CNN reports that the lawsuit, which was offiically filed last week, is seeking $5,000 and $15,000 in damages. USA Freedom Kids is represented by lawyer Marc Shapiro.

"We're not suing for emotional distress and all that other stuff that people do when they trump up," said Popick in the reports. "This is tangible dollars I spent under false pretenses." Trump's campaign has not yet made any statement regarding this matter.
