iPhone Screen Cracked? Apple Has Given An Option To Replace It Without Pinching Your Pockets

Apple decided to give in a little surprise. It quietly made some changes to its AppleCare+ extended warranty for iPhones. The updates were not announced by the company. However, it did not go unnoticed.

Usually, Apple charges $129 to purchase the protection plan for all models other than the iPhone SE. The iPhone SE costs $99 to cover. However, the amount that will be deducted to replace a shattered screen has gotten much cheaper. If the iPhone that you own does not have any other problem than the shattered screen, you'll have to only pay $29. Together, that adds up to $158 if you need one screen repair, or $187 if you need a second.

This is way much cheaper than the $99 screen replacement that Apple previously charged in place for the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. The older iPhone models had to shell out $79 fee for each replacement.

At the same time, if the phone has any other issue than the shattered glass, a flat $99 fee regardless of which model you have will be charged by the company. It should be kept in mind that this is applicable only for customers who have AppleCare+. If it is not there, each broken display repair will cost between $129 and $149, reported The Verge.

If butter fingers are your problem, then it is way cheaper to just purchase AppleCare+. This, again, will not be applicable to customers to whom AppleCare+ is not available, reported Tech Times.

The new iPhone 7 is water resistant and this will make it a little less prone to accidents. Also, if the phone falls, unfortunately, then it is a little cheaper. At the same time, if you are a customer of iPhone and if AppleCare+ is available to you, it makes much more sense to opt for the deal that Apple has provided. It goes without saying that it would benefit the clumsy lot who are most likely to drop an iPhone on to the pavement at least twice in the next two years.
