NBA Trade Rumors: Kings Trading Rudy Gay Confirmed! Houston Rockets And OKC Thunder Potential Destinations

Seeing Rudy Gay's name in the trade reports is not surprising as the player has been always part of the NBA trade rumor mills this offseason. In fact, many are waiting to find out where Gay will be playing in the forthcoming NBA season. Reports have it that Rudy Gay could be joining OKC Thunder or Houston Rockets.

An ESPN insider suggests that while Rudy Gay make it to Sacramento King's training camp, it does not confirm that he will be wearing the purple and black jersey throughout the NBA season. Gay will be traded to other teams.

Yibada reported that Kevin Pelton has given his verdict for Rudy Gay's tenure in Sacramento Kings and suggest that trading Gay would benefit the team. Pelton stressed that Gay's reunion with his former assistant coach in Memphis in Kings will be short-lived.

Per the reports, Rudy Gay's potential destinations include Oklahoma City Thunder. Thunder has a huge vacancy for its small forward position, which Gay dominates.

To push the OKC Thunder and Sacramento Kings trade, the former could offer Ersan Ilyasova, Mitch McGary and possibly Josh Huestis. Aside from this, Kings may likely demand Cameron Payne as they also need to fill to fill their point guard position. Rudy Gay will be hitting the free agency market at the end of the season and his trade market value is diminishing.

Meanwhile, reports have it that Houston Rockets is very interested in acquiring Rudy Gay. Gay is a perfect fit to coach Mike D'Antoni's system. Unfortunately, the Rockets have less to offer. Their only trade piece is Corey Brewer but other teams in the NBA league could easily top that.

The report suggests that Rockets might convince Kings for a Rudy Gay trade if they put Trevor Ariza on the trading block. But Ariza is a key player for Houston Rockets and they could not afford to lose him.
