NBA Trade Rumors: LA Lakers Trading Jordan Clarkson To Sixers For Jahlil Okafor And Sergio Rodriguez? D'Angelo Rusell The New Lead Guard?

D'Angelo Russell has become a regular in the NBA trade rumor mills. However, looks like Los Angeles Lakers are still keeping the young point guard. According to news reports, Russell will be the new lead guard of Lakers as team trade Jordan Clarkson to Philadelphia 76ers.

In the past few days, D'Angelo Russell is linked to several teams in the NBA league. Reports have it that Russell is heading to Sacramento Kings. In a separate report, there are rumors that LA Lakers are trading D'Angelo Russell to Indiana Pacers for Paul George. Some sources also linked Lakers' point guard to Washington Wizards.

Recent reports suggest otherwise. According to Sports Rageous, D'Angelo Russell will be the new lead guard in Los Angeles Lakers because the team will be trading Jordan Clarkson to Philadelphia 76ers. Jordan is one of Lakers' starting guard but reports have it that the team is sending him off to Philly before the new season begins.

If the LA Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers trade will be pushed through, the former's offensive focus will go to D'Angelo Russell. The Sixers have a surplus of big men and they already announced that they are willing to trade one of their big men. Philly wants wingmen, which Clarkson could fill.

Trade Checker suggests that Philly and Lakers could push the trade. Philadelphia 76ers will receive Jordan Clarkson and send Lakers their big man Jahlil Okafor, along with Sergio Rodriguez.

Clarkson and Rodriguez just signed new contracts this summer and are only eligible for trading after Dec. 15. Los Angeles Lakers will surely benefit from this trade because they want more prospects in the frontcourt position to play alongside with Timofey Mozgov, Tarik Black and Ivica Zubac.

Per the report, Lakers extended Jordan Clarkson's contract to a four-year $50 million deal this summer. However, if D'Angelo Russell and Clarkson can't make it work together in the backcourt, there is no use to keeping both.

What do you think of this Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers trade? Is this likely to happen? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
