"Girl Meets World" Season 4 cancellation news began making rounds online after a statement from Disney Channel's representative revealed that the network currently has no plans about the show's future. Behind-the-scenes photos of Rowan Blanchard, Sabrina Carpenter and the rest of the cast in tears also fuelled speculations that the show was coming to an end.

Many fans expressed their worries over the fate of "GMW" Season 4 and began signing online petitions in hopes of getting it renewed or picked up by another network.
