Kylie Jenner Net Worth: Teen Cut off from Mom Kris at 14; Says 'I Pay For Everything'

At barely 18 years old, reality TV star Kylie Jenner claims that she's financially independent from her mother and manager Kris Jenner. In an interview with InStyle UK, the young celebrity revealed that she had been "cut-off" when she was 14 years old. "So I pay for everything - my car, my gas and food as well as my clothes," reveals Kylie in the interview.

A source who spoke with E! Online confirmed what Kylie said, but clarified that the details are not entirely accurate. Since Kylie still lives with her mom and her sister Kendall in their mansion in Hidden Hills in California, the basic stuff, like food and laundry, are still paid for by Kris. However, the rest of her expenses are indeed taken from her own savings account. "Kris has always taught the girls about the importance of financial responsibility and independence," the source claimed.

"Kris has taught all the girls that if they want something, they have to work for it. Kris made sure she paid for Kylie's car, for medical, for housing, for food, for vacations. All the usual stuff," the source added, putting the context of being "cut-off" in the right perspective.

As far as expenses go, Kylie could very well pay for all the splurges she wants because, just like her mother, the young star has business sense. On top of the earnings she get from her TV series, "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," she has several modeling endorsements. She also has a clothing line from Topshop with her sister Kendall and a deal with OPI Nail Polish, as reported by Huffington Post.

Back in February, TMZ reported that she was planning on purchasing a suburban mansion worth $2.7 million, an amount no typical teenager could afford to pay unless they're Kylie Jenner. The conversation between Kris and her youngest daughter about this house was actually aired on the show last May.

"The second I turn 18 I want to be all moved in and ready to move into the house," Kylie said in the episode, as reported by Daily Mail. Her mother was initially surprised by this decision, but eventually came around to it. "'Kylie reminded me that she had a lot of projects that she's been working on and she really wants to take that money and invest in real estate."

It looks like the teenager is really being smart about her finances as her net worth is pegged at $5 million, according to Celebrity Networth.
