'The Walking Dead' Season 7 News And Updates: Negan's Backstory Will Be The Focus Of Upcoming Installment

"The Walking Dead" Season 7 will see more of the big baddie, Negan, and according to the actor playing the character, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, the upcoming episodes will focus on his backstory. Fans of "The Walking Dead" are aware that he is a different villain compared to all the others in the past season and they will get to see how he became merciless and evil.

Negan has this weapon, which is a baseball bat with barbed wire, and in the trailer of the premiere episode of "The Walking Dead" season 7, someone from the Alexandria survivors will be hit with it and die. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Morgan explained more about the baseball bat, which is called Lucille. He noted that in the premiere of "The Walking Dead," Negan will set the rules and if one will not follow what he said, something bad will happen. He added that Negan will make a clear example of what will happen for everyone to understand.

Morgan said that there is around 12 to 15 minutes of the premiere of "The Walking Dead" that will establish Negan. The premiere of "The Walking Dead" Season 7 will pick up from the Season 6 finale and it will answer the questions boggling the minds of the fans of the AMC hit series.

Morgan was asked how Negan views the post-apocalyptic word and the actor shared that that is exactly what "The Walking Dead" Season 7 is all about since the past six seasons was about Rick and his team. He added, "Now you're going to find out in that time Negan has been running his own show in his own way and coming across all sorts of people and taking care of business."

Negan's life before the zombie apocalypse started will also be shown in "The Walking Dead" Season 7 and that he rules with an iron fist and a sense of humor. Morgan said that fans of "The Walking Dead" will see how the Saviors and Negan in general operate, Screen Rant reported.

"The Walking Dead" Season 7 will be back in the small screen this October 23 on AMC.
